How does the Nuki door handle work?
The Ultion Nuki is a highly versatile smart handle that is suitable for composite and UPVC front or back doors, and can be operated in a number of ways, whether you prefer to do so hands-free or hands-on. In conjunction with the Nuki App, you can set permissions for who can use this handle, allowing you to be in control no matter what method of operation you choose.
Auto-unlock on arrival
There’s no need to hunt for keys when the Auto-Unlock function knows that you’re coming home. Using the location on your smartphone, the handle is able to detect your approach and unlocks the front or back door automatically for you.

Centre press for manual lock
Lock or unlock doors at the push of a button. With the Lock ‘n’ Go function, pressing this button on your Ultion Nuki door handle unlocks it for 20 seconds, after which it will lock safely. The time span can be adjusted via the App.
Wireless keypad entry
Securely operate handles without a smartphone. Ideal for hotels and rental accommodations, the Wireless Keypad can be set with different codes for guests and housekeeping staff using the same doors, which you can manage via the App.
Finger print entry
Control of your door is at your fingertips – literally. The fingerprint sensor on the Wireless Keypad can register numerous fingerprints of family members for your home, or of workers for the office.
Key fob entry
Keyless access in your pocket, the Key Fob unlocks your front or back door with the press of a button up to 15 metres away. The Key Fob’s small size makes it handy to carry around instead of a smartphone, and permissions can be set within the App.
Ultion Key manual entry
The timeless key can of course be used with the Ultion Nuki smart handle to manually lock and unlock your door. At the heart of the handle is a tamper-proof Ultion barrel that conforms to up-to-date British Standards in security and easily fits within composite and UPVC doors.
What apps control the Nuki door handle?
The Ultion Nuki handle works with several home integration apps for streamlined operation. A pairing with one of these popular apps allows for potential voice activated and remote access, and it can even be linked to automate guest access to doors for hotel rooms and rental homes. All you need is a Nuki Web account and the App to get started.
Google Home App
“OK Google, lock my front door.” You can link your Web account with Google Assistant for easy voice control of your doors.
Amazon Alexa
“Alexa, lock my back door.” Seamlessly link your handle with Amazon Alexa and use voice commands to operate it.
Apple HomeKit
Operate doors with just a swipe of your iPhone or Apple Watch. The Ultion Nuki can be linked with any HomeKit compatible device via Bluetooth.
Ring Doorbell
Combine Ring’s live camera function with the ability to lock or unlock your front or back doors remotely. With your smartphone, you can see who’s outside, should it be a family member who forgot their key, let them in.
Airbnb
Efficiently operate rental accommodations with the combination of Airbnb and the Nuki App. By linking your Web account with Airbnb, you can automate the check-in process for your guests and send them the relevant codes (for the Keypad) or access (via the Nuki App on their smartphones) for doors during their stays.
What guarantee comes with the Nuki handle?
Security and peace of mind are at the forefront of the Ultion Nuki handle, and for added assurance a 5-year guarantee is available for the lock in the event of a successful burglary.
£5,000 security guarantee
Each of these handles comes with a high-security Ultion lock, which is guaranteed for £5000 should a burglar manage to obtain entry into your home or property by means of snapping this lock. To activate this guarantee, simply register your lock with Ultion free within 28 days of installation. This cover will last for up to 5 years from the date of the lock’s installation.
Can I operate the Nuki handle with Wi-Fi?
To operate the standard Ultion Nuki handle by Wi-Fi, the separate Nuki Bridge Wi-Fi device is required. However, the Ultion Nuki Plus includes built-in Wi-Fi for more flexible integration with home systems.
The Nuki Plus handle works with your home network
The Plus handle offers the same array of features as the standard model, but with the addition of built-in Wi-Fi. Connecting the Plus to your home’s Wi-Fi makes it easier to control from a remote distance than with Bluetooth, and ties it neatly within your home network for an efficient smart home.

What colours of handle are available?
The standard Nuki comes in a white finish, while the Nuki Plus is available in white or black paired with steel, complimenting a number of finishes and hardware available for composite and UPVC doors.
Nuki door handle in white
The white option goes well with most composite or UPVC doors internally, as white is often the finish of choice for the inside of these home entrance doors, front or back. The standard Smart Lock is a modern white all over, while the Plus Smart Lock is white with the central ring in a contemporary steel finish. The included Ultion handle matches perfectly with both versions of the Smart Lock.

A black finish is available exclusively with the Plus model. The Plus Smart Lock comes in black with the central ring in a modern steel finish, while the included Ultion door handle matches seamlessly in black too.
What batteries power the Nuki handle?
The Ultion Nuki has a compartment for 4 x AA sized batteries, with the option to either use rechargeable batteries or a Power Pack.
Powered by 4 X AA rechargeable batteries
Rechargeable batteries are more efficient for use than standard alkaline batteries, as rechargeable batteries will last almost twice as long. Their rechargeability also makes them more environmentally friendly.
Supplied with a convenient battery charger
You’re all set to go with the rechargeable battery Power Pack already included with your Ultion Nuki handle. With this Power Pack, there’s no need to change batteries, and you can easily recharge the Power Pack via one of its USB-C ports.
Batteries will last over a year
The Power Pack is designed to last twice as long as conventional batteries, and will help to reduce waste otherwise caused by the disposal of quickly-depleting alkaline batteries.

You can see how much power your handle has with the App, so you’re always one step ahead in keeping it charged up.
