Composite doors and UPVC doors are the two key types of external door that we offer, both providing numerous benefits over standard wooden external doors. The term "composite" refers to the mixture (or composite) of materials that our composite doors are made of, which provide maximum benefits in terms of endurance and insulation; "UPVC" stands for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride and is also known as PVCu, a material that is moulded into shape and hardened (or unplasticised).

Both composite and UPVC doors offer advantages over average timber external doors, particularly when it comes to insulation - with high performance weatherseals to keep out cold, and glass using warm edge tech spacer bars to reduce the amount of heat that escape from indoors. They are also highly secure, with both featuring a Secured By Design locking system and steel reinforced frame (aluminium reinforced for composite Rock Doors).

These features, not to mention the wide range of designs for the doors themselves and the glass, as well as finishes, make these doors perfect replacements for old timber doors.

Among our composite doors are classical, contemporary, cottage and 1930s inspired designs, and many glass designs to go with them. We offer composite doors for front and back entrances, doors with pre fitted catflaps, cottage style stable doors and the well known Rock Doors from the Ultimate range.

Our standard composite doors are thermally efficient and highly secure, and come in a selection of finishes, which can also be applied to the frames. Stable composite doors are versatile in that they can be operated as a single door when joined by a deadbolt, or as two individually functioning units where each has its own locking system.

Rock Doors, famously known as "The Door That Beat The Bobbies", offer premium security, with glass sealed in the slab using S-Glaze technology and German engineered hook locks to lock the door against forced entry.

Our affordable UPVC doors come in a selection of traditional, modern and cottage styles, and offer energy efficiency with warm edge tech spacer bars in the glass and high performance weatherseals pre fitted to the doors themselves. Furthermore, they're low maintenance and so are weather resistant and won't require repainting.

Select composite and UPVC can also include a pre fitted catflap or pet door for dogs. We stock Pet Safe manual locking options, Cat Mate catflaps and Pet-Tek pet doors for Fully Glazed UPVC doors, and SureFlap microchip activated models, all of which come in white and some available in brown (note that these catflaps and pet doors can't be painted to different colours).

As part of our door fitting service, we include a survey of your old door, the removal and disposal or your old door, and the installation and finishing of your new door to a very high standard. As part of doing our job right, we take no deposit and only take full payment after your new door has been installed. And if you wish, you can also spread the cost of your new door over 6 months with buy-now-pay-layer finance.

• Again, we don't take full payment beforehand - so you pay in full AFTER installation
